About Amy

Amy Freese is an accomplished interior decorator, wardrobe stylist, and certified LIfe Coach.  With her down-to-earth attitude and go-to-girl connectibility, Amy has become the hub for women who desire to create custom-fit lives that excude light and fullness from the inside out.

Amy has woven her passion and experience from the fashion, decorating, and coaching industries together to create an innovative lifestyle concept for women; DesignHer Living.

The groundwork for DesignHer Living began early on in Amy's life as she grew up with a mother in both the fashion and interior design fields and a grandmother in the interior design field as well.  It didn't take long for Amy to build upon that craft and step out into the fashion and design industries too.  She put her Fashion Merchandising degree and course work from the Academy of Fashion Merchandising and Design in Chicago to work along the busy streets of the Windy City.  She was an integral part of the expansion, management, and fashion show teams for exclusive boutiques including Ganto's, Episode, and Henri Bendel all located on the Chicago's Magnificent Mile.

Those experiences led her to promote a prominent and respected LA designer, Carole Little, as a Women's Sportwear and Dress Merchandise Specialist.  Amy worked with the buying and management teams from the Federated, Dayton Hudson, and Boston Store companies in their respective locations, as well as, in the Carole Little showrooms in both the Chicago and New York Apparel Centers.

However, once motherhood came into the picture, Amy traded in her air miles for staying close to home with her child.  Soon after, she tapped into her entrepreneurial spirit and with a close friend, founded and operated a faux finishing business in downtown Chicago.  They lended their eye for design to both residential and commercial clients including Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises  (leading U.S. operator of 25 restaurant concepts)  and Gersted Home Builders. The positive reputaton and stellar business they created continued to thrive after Amy and her family relocated to Atlanta and continues to thrive today.

While in Atlanta, Amy continued her design business working for both residential and commercial clients again and as lead artist with Two Creative Design Firm.

After adding two more children to her family, Amy turned her attention to matters of the heart leading her on an introspective faith-filled journey turning her attention and energy towards living a life of peace, purpose, and a difference-making mentality.

Amy took that journey beyond herself and became a Certified Life Coach in order to achieve and master coaching skills and techniques to enable her to effectively lead and empower other women towards their greatness.

Coaching, leading, and teaching women in both the classroom and one- on -one has brought the essence of DesignHer Living full circle by creatively connecting both the interior stirrings and whispers of a woman's heart to her exterior presence and environment creating an in sync connection with the two.  Amy has followed her call to share and encourage other women to embrace the belief that "to be blessed on the outside is fortunate, but to live fully blessed on the inside is invaluable."

Amy's reach has gone beyond the classroom and out into her community through her 'Flourishing Friends Outreach & More' group; women in the community committed to providing support, time, and care to various community missions.  Amy also shares her time and efforts with the annual Monroe Carroll Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and Belk Fashion Show and The Next Door,

She is also a  featured Lifestyle columnist for Brentwood Home Page http://www.brentwoodhomepage.com/section/designher-living,  and hosted an internet radio show. http://www.amyfreese.com/Radio_Show_Interviews/

Amy has been married to her college sweetheart  for 22 years. They are working hard to raise three kind, independent and purpose-focused children.

Amy has become proficient enough at juggling mothering and marital roles along with the endless domestic responsibilities.  Most days she is able to achieve a  chaotic-free schedule allowing her to  balance, ever so delicately, her overflowing plates of purpose and difference making designs that have resulted in not only her living the designer life but in the many women's lives  she's locked arms with along the way too.
